Counseling

I do not, for the most part, "help" people. Instead, I walk in parallel with clients for the time they need it. What I found when “helping” was that I was “one-up” and they were “one-down” and parallel is better.

My practice is not the usual therapy practice. First, I am pastorally not psychologically trained, although I use a lot of psychology in my work. Second, clients come and go in my practice. Sometimes they come for six weeks running, then not at all for six years, then again for six weeks. I work with people on the phone and in person.

All the work I do includes the client’s concept of Deity, whatever that might be. I am not in the business of conversion so I don’t need you to agree with me, and I don’t need to agree with you about God. What I need is your concept of that Energy so that we can work together inspired by It.

Dr. Susan Corso
I work with individuals, couples (for reconciliation or dissolution), families, and other sorts of groups (work teams, social clubs, service organizations). Additionally, I am available to corporations to act as Chief Spiritual Officer for their businesses.

My normal initial session with a client is two hours. Other sessions vary but they are almost always longer than an hour. I prefer to allow the work to tell us when to stop rather than imposing an artificial timeline.

Most sessions end with some form of homework or practice for the client. I rarely see people every week unless there’s a crisis. More often, I work with people every other week. Insight takes time to practice and assimilate. I’d rather have the therapy take longer and take deeper inside.

If you are drawn to work with me, I’d ask that you let that desire simmer inside yourself for three days. If, after three days, you still feel it, please call my office (Phone:  212-366-1796) during business hours (between 10 AM and 5 PM EST) to arrange an appointment. Alternatively, you may email me at susan@susancorso.com.

At the time of this writing, my fee is $3 per minute.

What does a Chief Spiritual Officer do?

A CSO works with the essential purpose of an organization. How? By discerning the zeitgeist of an organization, and making sure that everyone in that organization—especially the C-Suite—is on the same page and pulling toward the same goals. Without that, people work at cross purposes to one another and wonder why things aren’t getting done as well or as quickly as they would like.

Much of my corporate work is with executives who understand that if they want change in their organizations, the only change required is in themselves. As the executive changes, the organization changes, and not vice versa. I use my counseling skills and experience and my intuition to align corporations, just like I use those same skills to walk individual clients into alignment in their lives.

If the need for a CSO resonates for your business, please contact me by email (susan@susancorso.com) or phone (212-366-1796).
It will be my pleasure to serve you if I may.
